COMEDIC ACTOR

Acting Reel / Comedic Actor Jamie Benson

As a comedic actor, I’m booked to play goblins, warlocks, and more for production companies like Guerrilla Revolution and Super Crazy Funtime. As a stand-up comedian, I’ve been booked for Broadway Comedy Club’s Yaaas Fest and Thoroughly Gay Thursdays. As an improviser, I’ve trained at Magnet Theater, Peoples Improv Theater, NW Actor’s Studio, and Cornish College of Art.

As a versatile performer, I’ve played a sportscaster in a NYSHEX commercial by Epiq Media and murderer James Koedatich in Murder Under Friday Night Lights for the Discovery Channel.

With over 20 years of dance training and theatrical performances, my face, body, and mind are highly expressive. Invite me to do sketch comedy, stand up comedy, improv comedy, and physical clowning for film, television and commercials.

WILD CHARACTERS

EXAMPLE: LATE FRIGHT

I play Rick, a disgruntled goblin assistant.

Synopsis: Lou Cipher is a hellish late night talk show host. He raises funds to torture innocent people within a Jerry Lewis style telethon. He’d reach his goals sooner if the staff would stop challenging him every step of the way.

SUBTLE SATIRE

EXAMPLE: NYSHEX COMMERCIAL

Description: I present a satirical take on a sportscaster, covering breaking news in a contract negotiation between shippers and carriers for the New York Shipping Exchange.

EXPRESSIVE BODY

EXAMPLE: BABS’ FAVORITE SOUND

Description: Babs' Favorite Sound is a live dance meditation on the human orgasm. I interpret an orgasmic rendition of Streisand’s The Way We Were with ridiculous movement invoking all four stages of Masters and Johnson’s Model of Sexual Response.

EXPRESSIVE FACE

EXAMPLE: TIME TRAVEL TAMBOURINE

My face attempts to tell a harrowing tale of sci-fi stupidity in a this nearly wordless short film.

Log Line: Glutenous guy trips over a tambourine that takes him back in time to prevent small recent mistakes. But, at what cost?
